bio
I am a mixed-media artist, born and raised in the rural Black Swamp region of Ohio, and currently living/practicing in Cincinnati. I received my BFA in Studio Art and Art Therapy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio as a first-generation college student. My background in psychology and Art Therapy heavily influences my practice, exploring themes related to identity, trauma, and memory.
My use of material reflects a commitment to elevating what has previously been unseen or insignificant, as I often use found/secondhand items to create visceral and tactile pieces with sentimental material histories. Through reworking memories and experiences from my own life, I seek to offer a more nuanced understanding of both the individual and collective experiences of "girlhood" and "womanhood."
